Fall 2013 International Orientation

Please make sure that your ticket is to Lafayette, Louisiana (airport code is LFT). If you plan to stay on campus, please make arrangements with the Housing Office prior to your arrival in Lafayette, LA. The telephone number at the Housing Office is (337) 482-6471. Wednesday, August 21

8:00 a.m. Math Placement Test ONLY for undergraduates in Maxim Doucet, room 211. Bring soft lead pencils, your passport, and a calculator. All undergraduates not having transfer credits from a U.S. Institution must take the math test.
12:00 p.m. MANDATORY International Student Orientation in the lobby of the Office of International Affairs for all new incoming international students (graduate and undergraduate). Packets will be distributed to each new incoming international student.
1:00 p.m. Immigration Session.
2:00 p.m. MANDATORY Datasheets will be collected and verified at the Office of International Affairs. Clearance cards necessary to register will be given out to students who attend orientation.
4:30 p.m. MANDATORY Welcome Reception hosted by UL Lafayette's President, Dr. Joseph Savoie, and Parish President, Mr. Joey Durel. Transportation and refreshments provided.

Thursday, August 22

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Undergraduate students report to E.K. Long Gym for MANDATORY campus-wide orientation.
12:30 p.m. MANDATORY orientation for all Graduate Students at H.L. Griffin Hall Auditorium.


Friday, August 23

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. MANDATORY Cross-Cultural Orientation session in the Office of International Affairs Lobby.
12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Trip to Wal-Mart (transportation provided by the OIA).


Monday, August 26

Check your schedule. Classes begin.

Thursday, August 29
